The fifth-generation Sportage launched in 2021 and was refreshed in 2025 with new Kia design, the 1.6T hybrid powertrain previously reserved for the Sorento, and an updated cabin.
We haven't driven the Sportage yet. On paper, the 2.0L NA entry is breathless against turbo and HEV rivals at the price. Step up to the 1.6T or HEV unless budget forces the base car.
Mainstream medium SUV buyers who want a 7-year warranty, real cabin tech, and the option of a hybrid drivetrain. SX 1.6T AWD is the value sweet spot.
